After a good amount of Fayette County saw multiple inches of rain last night, we could be in for more today and tonight–and that chance also includes the chance for some strong to severe storms. Showers and thunderstorms are likely for today with a high of 88. In their Situation Report for today, the National Weather Service in St. Louis puts Fayette County in the “Marginal” category for severe storms today and tonight. The NWS says that Isolated severe thunderstorms will be possible today and tonight, mainly during the afternoon and early evening hours. The NWS adds that damaging winds will be the primary threat, although large hail will also be possible. And, isolated severe storms will also be possible again on Thursday.
