An Ontario, Canada man was killed in a vehicle/pedestrian accident on Interstate 70 Wednesday night in Fayette County. Illinois State Police reports say the accident occurred at 8:50 pm on Wednesday on Interstate 70 eastbound at milepost 55.5. State Police reports say their preliminary investigation revealed that a semi and trailer driven by 46 year old Peter F. Peters of Elmira, Ontario, Canada was parked along the right shoulder on I-70 eastbound near milepost 55.5. State Police say that Peters was standing outside of his vehicle on the driver’s side near the middle of the trailer when an unknown truck tractor and white box semi-trailer sideswiped Peters vehicle. Peters was then pinched between both units and was fatally injured.
