Governor Bruce Rauner signed legislative ethics reforms in law last week. But, he says further change is needed. The Governor says he signed the law to get investigations rolling, but would now like to see the legislative ethics commission revamped so that it’s not made up of lawmakers. So, who would the Governor like to see serve?
The new law lets the office of legislation inspector general investigate allegations of sexual harassment without first getting permission from the commission. The Governor says that should apply to charges of fraud and other abuse as well.
