Kaskaskia College President George Evans was the featured guest speaker at Wednesday’s Great Fayette County Chamber of Commerce meeting. On Tuesday night prior to the meeting, Evans, who had served Interim President since November, was unanimously approved to become the permanent President of KC and signed a 3-year contract. At the Chamber meeting, Evans said it is truly humbling to have the interim tag removed and he is ready to continue the work he has started the last several months.
Evans is the first KC President who is also a graduate of the school and Evans says he is very proud of that.
Prior to becoming the President of KC, Evans was the Dean of Career and Technical Education for 7 years. That position will now be filled by Nic Farley.
