Matt Carpenter and Marcell Ozuna had three hits each for St. Louis, which had won its previous two games. Miami had dropped six consecutive games.

(Chicago, IL) — The Cubs fell behind 5-0 in the third inning and never recovered in a 6-1 loss to the Phillies at Wrigley Field. Kyle Hendricks allowed five runs in five frames to take the loss. Anthony Rizzo went 2-for-4 with an RBI double in the eighth for Chicago. The Cubs are 33-and-24, two games out in the NL Central.
