The Illinois House is narrowly approving a compromise gun dealer licensing bill. The legislation seeks to appease by requiring gun dealers to have their federal registration certified by the state. An earlier version called for a full state licensing program but State Representative Kathleen Willis says this is a fair compromise.
Willis says her bill streamlines the certification process and lowers fees initially proposed. It now goes back to the Senate for further approval.
