The Illinois unemployment rate hit a 12 year old low in April. The unemployment rate dropped to 4.4 percent in April, down from 4.6 in March. State Department of Employment Security spokesperson Bob Gough says the economy continues to pick up.
4700 jobs were gained last month, especially in the professional and business services, manufacturing and leisure and hospitality sectors.
