(Minneapolis, MN) — The Cardinals gave up three runs in the bottom of the seventh and lost 4-1 at Minnesota. Brett Cecil was charged with the go-ahead run and Luke Gregerson gave up a two-run homer to Bobby Wilson. Carson Kelly singled in the lone St. Louis run in the third. The Cards had just two hits and lost their third straight.

The 36-year-old had just come off the DL this past weekend. Wainwright walked six batters while lasting only two-and-a-third innings in a 5-3 loss to the Padres in San Diego.

(Cumberland, GA) — Addison Russell and Ben Zobrist drove in runs in the ninth inning as the Cubs rallied for a 3-2 win at Atlanta. Carl Edwards Jr. gave up a go-ahead homer to Ronald Acuna Jr. in the eighth, but got credit for the win. Brandon Morrow notched his 10 save. The second of the three-game series is tonight.
