Two people were injured in an accident on I-70 in Effingham County that led to traffic delays for a few hours. Illinois State Police Reports say that a semi being operated by 44 year old Ronald G. Fisher, Junior of St. Genevieve, Missouri was traveling east bound on I-70 in the right lane when reports say he drove past a construction maintenance truck, Varsity Striping Construction, with an arrow board pointing for traffic to merge into the left lane. The Fisher vehicle continued east bound on I-70 where it struck the striping truck, being operated by 25 year old Benjamin E. Streeval of Sherman, Illinois. The Streeval vehicle was a second construction maintenance truck with an arrow board pointing for traffic to end the left lane. Fisher was ticketed for Disobeying a Traffic Control Device, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident and Scotts Law violation. Both Fisher and Streeval were taken to St. Anthony Hospital in Effingham.
