Last month was the 2nd coldest April on record in Illinois. The statewide average temperature in April was about 45 degrees. That’s nearly 8 degrees below normal and one for the record books says State Climatologist Jim Angel.
Statewide average precipitation for April was about 2.5 inches, more than an inch below normal. And, that included snow in many parts of the state.
