(Springfield, IL) — One west-central Illinois Democrat says Governor Rauner is in denial about what Medicaid changes in the state are doing to small pharmacies. State Senator Andy Manar yesterday said that the governor is ignoring the reality that local pharmacies are often the only choice in many of Illinois‘ small communities. The governor yesterday brushed off worries from local pharmacies that Medicaid reforms are lowering the price for prescription drugs to a point that it hurts them. The governor says some pharmacies in the state can compete on price, and some can’t.
