After 2 years of extensive renovations, the Governor’s Mansion in Springfield is set to reopen to the public on July 14th. Nearly 15 million dollars in private donations were raised to help fund the project. First Lady Diana Rauner says the mansion was in desperate need of an overhaul.
When the Executive Mansion reopens this summer, it will be ADA compliant and have a Visitors Center with tours 7 days a week. And, for the first time, the Mansion will feature “Art in Illinois,” an exhibit bringing together fine and decorative works from Illinois artists.
