Frank Peter Durschmid, 88, of Vandalia, IL passed away at 9:15 PM, Monday, February 12, 2018 at Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care.

Frank Peter Durschmid was born June 06, 1929 in Chicago, IL, the son of Frank and Eva (Baier) Durschmid. He was a Veteran serving in the United States Army National Guard. Frank was a retired supervisor for Crane Packing in Vandalia. He was also a member of Mother of Dolors Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #4360. Frank was an avid book reader, enjoyed playing chess, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary Maskill and husband Howard of Riverside, IL and Josephine Mullane and husband John of Naperville, IL; sister-in-law, June Durschmid; Nieces and Nephews, Leslie Walters (David), Michael Durschmid, Mark Durschmid, Margaret Amlie (Eric), Daniel Maskill (Terry), Diane Maskill, Joseph Mullane, Theresa Cremering (Gerald), Patricia Ricchiuto (David), and Timothy Mullane (Karen).
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Durschmid; and nephew, David Maskill.
