A man has been arrested and charged with murder, in connection with the death of a rural Brownstown man in September of this past year. In a release from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, it states “Today the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Illinois State Police Zone 7 Investigations and the Fayette County State’s Attorney, arrested 68 year old David Leroy Bright of Mulberry Grove for the murder of James Skinner.” Skinner was found dead at his home on Illinois Route 185 in rural Brownstown back on September 17th of 2017 and the death was investigated as suspicious.
Sheriff Smith states in his release that bond was set today for David Bright at 1 million dollars and he is being held in the Fayette County Jail.
Sheriff Smith goes onto sale in his release that he would like to thank the ISP Zone 7 Investigations for the many hours they put into solving this case. Sheriff Smith says “it is nice to have such great help available when we call for assistance.” Sheriff Smith says he would also like to thank the Bond County Sheriff and Bond County State’s Attorney for their assistance with this case. Sheriff Smith also says “this should make the residents of Fayette County feel safe knowing we have a suspect in custody.”
