The process of a new comprehensive plan for the City of Vandalia is officially beginning following the first meetings being held with PGAV of St. Louis during two work sessions on Monday afternoon. Mayor Rick Gottman informed the crowd at Monday night’s council meeting that both meetings went well.
During the work sessions, Andrew Murray, Adam Stroud and Jenny Ryan of PGAV presented maps of different aspects of the city from zoning to land use as well as a future projected land use map to those in attendance. After hearing from council members and the mayor and even media in attendance on things that stand out as positives and draws to the city as well as areas that need to be improved, PGAV will look to begin the process of putting those ideas together along with input from department heads on infrastructure and many other aspects to begin building a new plan that will also be able to build on a previous plan approved by the city several years ago.
