The final estimates for the 2017 crop in Illinois includes some new records. The soybean yield is estimated at 58 bushels per acre, down one bushel from 2016. But, production hit a record high at 612 million bushels, up 3 percent from the previous year says Crop Statistician Mark Schleusener.
Producers harvested 470 thousand acres of winter wheat, and the yield is estimated at 76 bushels per acre. That tops the previous record by two bushels.
