We are looking at a pretty wild weather day, with some major changes as we go along. We start off today warm, as we’ll see a high of 62. Rain and possibly a thunderstorm are in the forecast today. It will also be windy, with gusts up to 30 miles per hour.
Then, things will change dramatically this evening. as we’ll see freezing rain, sleet and eventually all snow. The temperature will start falling this afternoon and likely will dip below freezing around 8 pm or so–when the freezing rain will likely start. We’ll see a low of 19 for tonight. The National Weather Service in St. Louis says that new ice accumulations of than 1/10th of an inch for tonight and new snow and sleet accumulations of less than one inch possible. But, the freezing rain of any amount could make travel very difficult for tonight.
