(Washington, DC) — The nation’s highest court could decide the limits of the power of public sector unions based on an Illinois case. The U.S. Supreme Court yesterday said that it will hear arguments in the Janus case in February. Janus is a challenge to forced unionization, the idea that someone has to pay union dues or an opt-out fee, simply because they work in a certain office. Mark Janus sued because he doesn’t want to support AFSCME, Illinois‘ largest public sector union and their political agenda.
