A Missouri man facing charges of traveling to meet a minor and grooming made an appearance in Fayette County Court Tuesday where he was advised of the multiple charges of possession of child pornography now filed against him. 42-year old Shelby D. Weston of Monett, Missouri appeared for a pre-trial hearing in the grooming case and was informed of the six new charges against him of possession of child pornography as information states that Weston allegedly possessed three photographs and one video of a child the defendant should have reasonably known to be under the age of 13 with those four counts all being Class 2 felonies that are punishable by three to seven years in prison. Weston is also charged with two charges of possession of child pornography for allegedly possessing two photographs of a child the defendant should have reasonably known to be under the age of 18 which are both Class 3 felonies and punishable by two to five years in prison. After Weston was advised of the new charges, he waived a preliminary hearing and formal arraignment on the charges is now set for January 23 at 10am. Pre-trial is also set to be held that day on all charges. Weston remains in Fayette County Jail on $250,000 bond.
