The Illinois State Police is gearing up for Holiday Lifesavers Weekend in hopes of reducing fatal crashes on Illinois roadways. Troopers will conduct saturation patrols, roadside safety checks and more to help keep people safe this weekend says Master Sergeant Mike Link.
Link says you are 23 times more likely to get in a crash when texting and driving, and reminds that the average DUI arrest costs 25 thousand dollars in fines and legal fees.
