Floyd Norman Pryor, 94, of Vandalia, passed away at 6:55am, Thursday, November 30, 2017 at St. Johns Hospital, Springfield.
Services will be held at 3:00pm, Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Doug Wodtka officiating. Burial will be in South Hill Cemetery, Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
Mr. Pryor was born September 28, 1923, in Vandalia, IL, the son of Floyd D. Pryor and Cleta “Lucille” (Bayles) Pryor. He married Mildred A. Kersten on Nov. 29, 1945, in St. Elmo.
Norman was a self-employed farmer, he drove a school bus for Vandalia Community Schools for 30 years, and was an election judge for nearly 50 years; he loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, and the annual trip to the Illinois State Fair.
He is survived by daughter Jan and her husband Joe Gillan of Vandalia; son Dennis Pryor and his wife Rose of Vandalia; grandchildren Andy Pryor, Keri Nugent, and Eric Gillan; great-grandchildren Carter, Colin, Haille, Carson, Connor, Keegan, Destiny, Rachel, Brianna, Alexis, and Keegan; and his cat Scotchy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister Arlene Braun and granddaughter Marcia Barrish.
