(Springfield, IL) — Only one-third of kids in Illinois schools are where they are supposed to be in reading and math. But lawmakers in Springfield want them to use more classroom time learning how to write in cursive. The Illinois House yesterday overrode Governor Rauner’s veto of a cursive mandate, that puts cursive lessons one step away from becoming a requirement in Illinois schools.
