(Rochester, IL) — Another piece of Abraham Lincoln history is back home in central Illinois. The Campbell family from Green City, Missouri donated a box made from a stump that Lincoln used to deliver a speech in 1832. Lincoln stood on the stump during a race for the Illinois House. Terry Campbell says he wanted to return the box to its home, and last week he donated the chest to the Rochester Historical Preservation Society.
