This week has seen one candidate get out of the race for the Republican nomination for the area’s State Representative seat, and one candidate get in.
Earlier this week, candidate Brian Milleville announced he was withdrawing from the race. In a statement, Milleville said that on Monday evening of last week, his son was a passenger in a life-threatening rollover accident in which he sustained extensive and severe injuries that Milleville said would leave him hospitalized for the immediate future and his recovery time would take 6 to 8 months. And, with the need to help him in his recovery, Milleville made the decision to withdraw from the race to help his family in the situation.
Meanwhile, Laura Myers of Greenville announced this week she was running for the Republican nomination for the 107th district State Representative seat. Myers currently works for the Illinois Department of Corrections and grew up in Bond County.
With Milleville leaving the race and Myers entering, that means there are currently two candidates for the Republican nomination for the 107th district State Representative seat, with Blaine Wilhour of Fayette County being the other candidate.
