A Florida man was injured in a one vehicle accident on Wednesday morning on Interstate 57 near the Fayette-Marion County line. The accident occurred on Interstate 57 at mile marker 132, about 3 miles south of the Farina exit. And, the accident was at 2:04 Wednesday morning. Illinois State Police reports say a semi driven by 52 year old Kevin N. Wright of Milton, Florida was northbound on I-57 when he left the roadway into the median and overturned onto the driver’s side. The driver was entrapped in the vehicle and was extricated from the vehicle by the Kinmundy Fire Department. Wright was transported to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis by Air Evac from the scene.
An accident on Interstate 57 near the Fayette-Marion County line led to one individual being taken to the hospital for injuries. The accident occurred at 6 am Wednesday morning on Interstate 57 southbound at mile marker 132, which is 3 miles south of the Farina exit. Illinois State Police reports say that a vehicle driven by 57 year old Cynthia Dippold of Farina was traveling south on I-57 in the left lane. State Police reports say that Dippold looked away from the roadway momentarily watching the crash cleanup in the north bound lanes. And, she was unaware of the tow recovery truck with lights parked on the left shoulder of the south bound lanes. Dippold veered her vehicle to the left off the road and struck the parked vehicle and then skilled over the southbound lanes and into the right ditch. Dippold was taken to Salem Hospital for treatment of injuries.
