A Fayette County resident has announced his candidacy for the area’s State Representative seat. Blaine Wilhour announced on Monday that he is a Republican candidate for the 107th District State Representative seat. Wilhour and his family reside in the rural Beecher City area in Fayette County and he is a former member of the Fayette County Board. Wilhour is the co-owner and operates Longhorn Buildings, LLC, and he’s also a third generation family farmer. As of this time, Wilhour is the 3rd individual to announce their intention to run for the State Representative seat but only the second to remain in the race, along with Effingham Businessman Brian Milleville. Marion County businessman Adam Smith announced his candidacy last week, but then suspended his campaign a couple of days later.
