An Effingham businessman has announced he will run for State Representative. Brian Milleville has announced he will seek the Republican nomination for the 107th District State Representative Seat, which is currently held by Republican John Cavaletto. Milleville says Cavaletto’s vote in favor of an income tax increase was a big blow to the area and one reason why he decided to run.
Cavaletto originally voted for the increase, but after the measure was vetoed by Governor Rauner, Cavaletto did vote to uphold the veto—although it was overriden by the General Assembly. Milleville says he’s been involved in area politics in Effingham County for many years.
If Cavaletto runs for re-election, Milleville would face him in the spring 2018 primary. We will talk more with Milleville coming up tomorrow during NewsCenter.
