(St. Louis, MO) — Michael Wacha and John Gant combined on a six-hitter as the Cardinals blanked the Pirates 7-0 in St. Louis. Wacha struck out seven over eight innings of five-hit ball to improve to 12-and-7. Yadier Molina hit a three-run homer and drove in five runs as the Cards swept the three games.

(Chicago, IL) — The Cubs’ lead in the NL Central is down to two games over both the Brewers and Cardinals. Milwaukee handed Chicago a 3-1 loss at Wrigley Field on Sunday, completing a three-game sweep. Kyle Hendricks took the loss for the Cubs, who have lost six-of-eight. They host the Mets tomorrow.
