Two area communities will host their annual Labor Day weekend events this weekend.
The Patoka Fall Festival will get underway on Friday evening. At 5 pm will be their carnival opening and the C-Bar Rodeo will get underway at 7 pm on Friday. On Saturday, they will hold their 5k run gets underway at 8 am, with the annual parade at 11 am. There will be events throughout the day on Saturday, leading up to the Demo Derby at 7 pm.
The St. Elmo Labor Day event will get underway on Saturday. Saturday morning at 8 am will be the 5K run/walk and city wide garage sales. The Cruise In on Main Street will be held from 3 pm to 7 pm. On Monday, the Pancake breakfast will be from 6 am to 9:30 am at the Firehouse. The parade will be held at 10:30 am, with the American Legion Fish Fry and St. Elmo Lion’s Cake Walk immediately following the parade. Parade winners will be announced at 4th and Main Streets at 12:30 pm, and the announcement of the Citizen of the Year at 12:45 pm.
