Teammate Adam Wainwright is matching Carpenter’s donations.

(Chicago, IL) — The Cubs scored three times in the seventh inning to pull away for a 6-1 win over the Pirates at Wrigley Field. Mike Montgomery tossed seven-plus innings of one-run ball for his fifth win. Chicago had lost three of its previous four games. The Cubs lead the NL Central by two-and-a-half games over Milwaukee. They host the Bucs again tonight.
