Today marks the fifth day of the high school football season around the state and the Vandals have put in five days of work as they gear up for their 2017 campaign. The Vandals will see an experienced group of core guys on both sides of the ball coming back this year and Vandals Coach Jason Clay says the varsity experience that is back and the leadership coming back is big for the team this year.
And with the experience coming back for the Vandals, Coach Clay says despite the 8-1 regular season last year, the first-round loss in the playoffs is something the team isn’t satisfied with as they put the work in this preseason.
Just two weeks now remain until the Vandals start their season on the road at Gillespie. However, Vandals fans will be able to get their first glimpse at the Varsity as well as the JV and freshman Vandals at next Friday night’s Red/White night.
