Day two of the Special Session at the state capital came and went with no movement towards making sure schools open on time in the fall. Lawmakers were only in session for a few minutes, and Governor Bruce Rauner again chastised the senate for not sending him the education funding bill needed to send money out to schools.
Senate President John Cullerton says he’s been trying to meet with the Governor to discuss the issue. But, if that doesn’t happen, he will send the measure to the Governor’s desk on Monday.
