An accident on Interstate 57 just south of Farina led to 3 individuals being taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries. The accident occurred at 7:15 on Wednesday morning on southbound I-57 about 3 miles south of Farina, around the Fayette/Marion County line. Illinois State Police reports indicate that a vehicle driven by 56 year old Clara Rojas-Manjarrez of Georgetown, Texas was traveling south on I-57, when the vehicle apparently blew a tire and swerved into the guard rail on the left side of the roadway. The vehicle then skidded right, bouncing off the guard rail across the southbound lanes. The driver then overcorrected to the left and the vehicle began to skid back across the southbound lanes and overturned, landing in the grass median. The driver along with 2 passengers, an 8 year old female from Waukegan, Illinois and George Cedillo of Georgetown, Texas were all taken to Salem Hospital for treatment of injuries.
