The Vandalia City Council’s Lake Committee hosted an informational meeting at City Hall on Saturday morning to receive input from residents of the lake area concerning a couple of things brought forward to the council in the past several months. Mayor Rick Gottman addressed the crowd stating the council called the meeting to get residents input on the 99-year lease for the lake as well as the topic of annexation into the city of the lake lots in the lease.
With starting to go through information from the city before opening the floor to the lake residents, Mayor Gottman addressing tax numbers that show the city actually loses money each year paying taxes on the lake lease property.
Gottman then shared pros and cons of the lake property being annexed into the city and then opened the meeting to the residents to receive their input on the issues. And we will have more from the meeting coming up tomorrow on Newscenter.
