Frustration and finger pointing continued as lawmakers on Friday wrapped up the first 3 days of special session in Springfield. The Governor called the special session and encouraged the legislature to pass a balanced budget with reforms. But, Senate President John Cullerton questions whether anyone wants to get a deal done, and says the Senate already did it’s part when Democrats passed a budget last month.
House Minority Leader Jim Durkin says it’s now up to the Illinois House to get a budget out.
Lawmakers are back in Springfield this week in hopes of approving a spending by the June 30th end of the fiscal year.
