The National Weather Service in St. Louis says it was strong winds and a thunderstorm that caused the damage in Fayette County early Sunday morning. James Kramper with the National Weather Service in St. Louis says the damage was caused by wind gusts from a strong thunderstorm moving thru the area. Kramper again states there was no tornadic activity that they can see that occurred with the storms that rolled thru Fayette County during the 2 am hour on Sunday morning. Kramper says they estimate the winds averaged from 60 to 70 miles per hour.
