(Springfield, IL) — Springfield’s public schools are the latest to warn parents they won’t be able to make it through the next school year without a state budget. Springfield Superintendent Jennifer Gill yesterday said her district will run out of money in January. Gill isn’t saying what a shutdown would mean for graduating high school seniors. Illinois lawmakers are returning to the statehouse tomorrow to work on a new state budget.
