A 56 year old Missouri man is facing a felony charge of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence in Fayette County Court, after it was discovered he is alleged to have received multiple DUIs in the past. On Thursday, 56 year old Brian Barber of Lathrop, Missouri was arrested by Vandalia Police after it was alleged he caused property damage after striking a sign at the Interstate 70 eastbound ramp at mile marker 61. At the time, Barber was charged with DUI, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. On Friday, Fayette County State’s Attorney Joshua Morrison charged Barber with Aggravated Driving Under the Influence, which is a Class X Felony, after it was discovered Barber is alleged to have received 5 previous DUI’s, or a similar such charge, in the state of Missouri. Bond for Barber was set at $150,000. He will have a preliminary hearing on July 11th at 11 am.
