One day after House and Senate Republicans unveiled a budget plan they believe is a compromise both parties can live with, Governor Bruce Rauner has called a special session for the Illinois General Assembly. Governor Rauner has called legislators back to Springfield for a 10 day special session that will begin on Wednesday, June 21st and run thru June 30ths, which is the end of the state’s fiscal year.
The budget unveiled by Republican lawmakers is said to include a property tax freeze for 4 years, funding for social services, pension and worker’s compensation reform and more.
