June weather is getting off to a hot and dry start according to the State’s Climatologist. The average statewide temperature so far in Illinois has been 70.5 degrees, which is more than a degree and a half above normal. State Climatologist Jim Angel says we haven’t seen much rain.
Angel says that’s led to the first couple of inches of soil drying out, but he says there’s still plenty of moisture below the surface.
