A Vandalia man convicted of three counts of possession of child pornography was sentenced Friday to 18 years in the Department of Corrections. 56-year old William Frakes was sentenced by Judge Kevin Parker to seven years in prison each on the Class X felony counts one and two for possession of child pornography of a sadistic nature depicting a victim reasonable known to be under the age of 13 with the two sentences to be ran consecutively. Parker also sentenced Frakes to three years in the DOC for Class 2 felony count three for possession of child pornography depicting a victim reasonable known to be under the age of 13 to be served consecutively to counts one and two for a total of 18 years in prison. Frakes will serve at least 50 percent of the sentence depending on time for good behavior and completion of required programs in the DOC. Frakes will also receive credit for over 300 days spent in the Fayette County Jail as he awaited trial and then sentencing.
