(Chicago, IL) — The Cubs rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat the Cardinals, 3-2, at Wrigley Field in the opener of a three-game series. Jason Heyward’s RBI sac-fly in the bottom of the eighth plated the go-ahead run as Chicago ended a six-game losing streak. Heyward also had a RBI double in the sixth to tie the game at two, while Kris Bryant put Chicago on the board with a solo shot earlier in the game. Pedro Strop came away with the win and Wade Davis closed it out for his 11th save. St. Louis got off to a quick start with a lead-off homer by Dexter Fowler against his former team. Reliever Trevor Rosenthal was tagged with the loss.
