(Springfield, IL) — Republicans and Democrats in the Illinois Capitol aren’t anywhere close to a budget deal. But it’s the last day of the spring session, so expect a budget vote. House Democrats appear ready to vote today on the five-and-a-half billion-dollars in tax increases that make up the Senate Democratic budget. Governor Rauner, however, is promising to strike down that plan. Illinois has not had a budget in nearly two years.
