(St. Louis, MO) — Willson Contreras homered twice and the Cubs held off a late rally as the topped the Cardinals, 3-2, in St. Louis. Tommy La Stella also went deep as Chicago won for the third time in four games this season at Busch Stadium. Eddie Butler tossed six shutout innings to pick up the win. Wade Davis notched his eighth save. Randal Grichuk homered in defeat for St. Louis. The Cardinals scored a run in the ninth inning but the rally fell short as their six-game winning streak was snapped.
