The pre-trial for a Vandalia woman charged with injuring her infant child has again been reset. 24-year old Aubree Hammer appeared in Fayette County Court for a pre-trial hearing Tuesday morning with defense attorney Patrick Schaufelberger. As there are still some issues needing to be wrapped up in the matter before the parties can continue to pre-trial, the matter has been reset for June 13 at 10am with the delay in the case is charged to the defense. Hammer is alleged to have injured her, at that time, 3 ½ month old baby in February of 2016 and is charged with one count of aggravated battery to a child under the age of 13 with great bodily harm or permanent disability. The offense is a Class X Felony and it is punishable by 6-30 years in prison. Bond for Hammer is set at $1 million and she does currently remain in custody in the Fayette County Jail.
