The bridge project at the intersection of 5th & Randolph Streets is very close to being completed after several months of construction has kept the area closed off to traffic. During last Monday’s Vandalia City Council meeting, Mayor Rick Gottman informed the council that the asphalt had been completed and they were waiting for the striping to completed when it was ready. And Gottman also saying that a ribbon cutting will be planned for the opening of the area and commended all those involved in the project.
Gottman also stating that the project is actually a little ahead of schedule. The asphalt was one thing that was an unknown on the timeline as it had all depended on when the asphalt plants would open up for the spring.
