Longtime City of Vandalia alderman Jerry Swarm was honored during Monday night’s Vandalia City Council meeting. Vandalia Mayor Rick Gottman took time during the council members announcements section of the meeting to honor Swarm with a plaque for his many years of service on the council as well as his countless hours of work in the city. Swarm did not run for another term, and his seat will be taken by Steve Barker–who will be sworn in at the first meeting in May.
Also during the meeting, Gottman took time to honor former Public Works Director John Moyer for his time serving as an alderman on the council before becoming the Public Works Director. To honor his service, Gottman presented Moyer a small clock.
