(Springfield, IL) — Another day, another warning to state of Illinois leaders to come to terms on a budget. The latest warning came yesterday from Moody’s Investors Service and said Illinois is looking at “unsustainable fiscal challenges” because of the lack of a state spending plan. Moody’s says Illinois is dangerously close to permanent damage to both its social service system and its credit. Illinois lawmakers haven’t agreed to a budget in nearly two years.
