The Illinois General Assembly is back to work today, and the biggest question they continue to face is if they can find a way to get a budget passed. It is believed the “Grand Bargain” budget may be brought back this week, although it’s chances of survival are probably not that great. State Senator Kyle McCarter says he has his own budget plan that he is hoping can move forward this week.
There has been no full budget for the past two years and the backlog of unpaid bills for the state has reached a new high of 12.8 billion dollars.
