The Vandalia City Council approved a TIF agreement at their meeting Monday night that will help with rehabilitating a downtown building that will be used for a new business. The agreement is between the City of Vandalia and Radliff Properties, LLC for the building located at 330 W. Gallatin Street, formerly the home of Allen’s Furniture. The agreement is for $83,350 or half of the expected cost of the project which will be used for electrical and plumbing upgrades, new flooring, exterior work, ADA compliant restrooms and several other renovations. In speaking of the agreement, Mayor Rick Gottman said he met with the Radliffs and they purchased the building very quickly after that meeting.
When asked when the construction or rehabilitation of the building would begin, Eric Radliff stated that the work may begin as soon as April 15.
